What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are simply posts or frames that fit into your jaw. Once placed, they act as a base for your dentist to implant your replacement teeth. That can be a much-needed treatment for people who have lost their teeth. Lost teeth can be due to neglect of brushing or even an accident or fall. The importance of dentures is that they ensure that your new teeth stay where they are, stay firm, and not move at all.
How many types of implants are there?
Two main types of implants are well-known in dental practice in the UK and Europe, including Turkey. The first type of implantation is endosteal implants, which are through surgery in two stages in your jaw. The first implantation of prostheses and the second stage is postoperative surgery.
The second type of implant is called a subperiosteal implant, which includes a metal frame just above your gums. Over time, as the gums heal, a metal frame is implanted and eventually becomes a solid foundation for dentures.
How long will my dentures last?
On average, you can expect your dentures to last one to two decades. Of course, this all depends on the denture position in your gums and the type of fittings. However, many dentists recommend that you change your dentures every five years or so. At first, you are going to have several appointments with your dentist. Then, they can advise you at the right time.
How much do they cost?
The benefits of dental implants can be both for the health of your teeth and for your confidence. One of the significant downsides is the cost. Here in the UK, the cost of planting one plant maybe 00 3,500 (BUPA UK). The number of implants you need depends on your dentist’s decision and other related expeditions such as the cost of the checkup and your trip, which means that they can all be expensive.
However, if you want to travel to Turkey on four short flights, you will pay significantly less. The average cost of a single planting in Turkey ranges from 6 396 to 3 643, depending on the type, need, and complexity. The prices are impressive that you can do 4-5 implants in Turkey at the cost of one implant in the UK. That is just one of the reasons why people go to Turkey for their dental care. Now we want to look at some of these other reasons.
What are the other benefits of dental implants in Turkey?
Another disadvantage of implant placement in the UK is the waiting time. On average, you can expect to wait at least six months to more than a year just for the initial appointment and more until their final visit. The whole dental implant procedure in Turkey, including all subsequent visits and examinations, will not take more than half a year. You only need three doctor appointments with your dentist, and even if your jawbone is good enough, you can do the whole process during a day.
Now you might think if it’s so cheap and so soon, the quality of the method is somehow compromised, but that is far from the truth. The government has long realized how profitable the health tourism industry has been for the country. Therefore they invested the entire country in the region and education to use these methods at such low prices, and it will provide in a short time. In general, the quality of dental services is world-class, and many of the top dental professionals are in Turkey.
Finally, we all recognize Turkey as a hot spot for the holidays, and just because you go there to treat your teeth does not mean you can not have a relaxing break. A five-star hotel in Turkey will not cost you more than 40 to 50 pounds a night, so why not make the most of your vacation. Some incredible holiday resorts in Turkey also have dentists, including Istanbul, Marmaris, and Antalya.

How long does the dental implant process take?
It is essential to keep in mind that the full procedure typically takes two trips – and is sometimes performed three times if you lose bone and need a bone graft before the implant.
The dental implant procedure usually consists of three parts
The implant acts as a tooth root, and they will install it at your first visit. Like a tooth root, it is under the gum line, so once inserted, you will no longer see the implant. For this procedure, first, the dentist anesthetizes your mouth, and the dentist makes an incision in the gums to access the jawbone. The implant will be inside your jaw, and the gums will suture on it. It is then necessary to the implant, repair, and weld with your jawbone in a process called ossification, which can take several months to achieve.
When you return for the second part of the operation, they will give you local anesthesia and open the gums will so that the dentist can attach the base to the implant. The support protrudes from the gum line and connects the crown to the implant. Once the base part is ready, the crown (false tooth) is attached, and your dental implant treatment is complete.
During both trips, 7-10 days after each part of the procedure, you should see a dentist to make sure everything is healing as it should be and there are no signs of infection.
